Special Events Manager - Hotel

TreowGroup Recruitment, on behalf of our luxury hotel client, is seeking a  Special Events Manager.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, enjoys building client relationships, and has a strong foundation in food & beverage operations and event coordination.

Location: Caledon, Ontario
Position Type: Permanent, full-time
Shifts: Mon & Tues in office, Wed & Thursday scheduled off, Friday – Sunday on-site for events until approximately 6 pm.
Compensation and Perks: $56K - $62K (base + perks), Health Benefits, RRSP match, Discounts on Hotels, Restaurants, Spas

Key Responsibilities
  • The Special Events Manager executes weddings and corporate events from start to finish
  • Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to execute all event details
  • Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for group functions
  • Attend daily operations and function meetings
  • Be present onsite for events to ensure seamless execution
  • Support front-line staff (servers, bartenders, porters, bussers) during peak periods
  • Oversee all aspects of client billing
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all products and services, identifying opportunities to enhance guest experience
  • Proactively recommend additional services aligned with guest needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Secondary Responsibilities
  • Step into an Outlet Supervisor role when required (team leadership, service support, billing, reservations)
  • Cover Duty Manager shifts as needed

Qualifications & Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in banquets, catering, or hospitality events
  • Strong understanding of conference and catering operations
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field preferred
  • Proven ability in sales and up-selling is an asset
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel); experience with Maestro is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
