Production Supervisor

On behalf of our GTA-based manufacturing client, WinstonBrock Recruitment is hiring a Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations

About the Role
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for guiding daily shift operations, driving productivity, and maintaining strong quality and safety standards. This leader will work closely with the General Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure schedules are met, resources are allocated effectively, and continuous improvement is embedded into daily practices.

Shifts: Afternoon shift
Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience + health benefits  

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to production staff; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and safety.
  • Oversee workflow and resource allocation, ensuring production targets are achieved while minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials, components, and finished goods; coordinate replenishment and prevent shortages.
  • Conduct shift huddles, prepare reports, track KPIs (output, quality, downtime, efficiency), and communicate key updates across shifts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor maintenance issues, working with maintenance staff when needed.
  • Enforce health & safety protocols, carry out inspections, and actively promote a safe work environment.
  • Ensure product quality by addressing non-conformance issues and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Support new hire onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to identify and implement process improvements that enhance yield, efficiency, and overall production performance.
  • Step in for production staff during breaks or absences as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, safety incidents, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing setting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate teams while driving performance.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Proficiency with production management systems and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
  • Physically able to work in a manufacturing environment (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., varying temperatures, noise, and dust) while adhering to all PPE requirements.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
